Hi, I’m Ashley. The Current Center has been a dream of mine for a while. Let me tell you how it started.  

My career in education began in undergrad when I took a part-time job as an instructional assistant at a Montessori School. Montessori showed me the value of agency and experiential learning. When learning is tailored to the child’s needs it can empower, build a thinking mind, and foster independence. After graduation I took a detour to work in the corporate world. It only took a few short years to realize I missed learning and children. My Bachelor’s degree in Psychology  from Endicott College in Beverly, MA and early work at a crisis center, therapeutic school, and hospital called me back to the field of mental health. I eventually began my graduate career at William James College in Newton, MA. I graduated with a Master’s (MA) degree in Psychology and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in School Psychology. 

I joined the public school system as a school psychologist. I have worked in several districts and within various types of programming. Language-based programs, therapeutic programs, functional academic/independent living skills programs, and Autism programs are among them. My experience spans kindergarten through the age of 22. I have enjoyed all of it and continue to support children in a different way through my work at the Current Center.

I have since obtained a license to practice privately as a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP). My work continues to be rooted in helping children receive the educational experience that best suits their needs, no matter their ability. I seek to join my clinical expertise with my knowledge of the ins and outs of the public school system. Collaboration between families and school-based teams is paramount in my approach, and I know that we best serve our children when there is open dialogue and a respectful partnership between them.
